How Binotto and Wheatley will divide F1 team principal role at Audi

Not long after announcing that Mattia Binotto will join Sauber (from 2026 Audi) as COO and CTO, Audi announced on Thursday that Jonathan Wheatley will join as team principal ‘no later than July 2025’. Earlier today day, Red Bull Racing also announced the departure of its sporting director. At Audi, there will be a clear division of roles between Wheatley and Binotto, who will jointly take charge of the team.
