Was Verstappen’s penalty for Piastri collision too harsh?

The opening lap of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix saw Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri come together at the first corner.

Verstappen attempted to move up the inside of Piastri into Turn 1 as he attacked the McLaren driver for second place.

However, the duo collided which sent Piastri to the back of the pack.

The Australian was able to recover to 10th place on the road while Lando Norris’ victory was enough for McLaren to seal the F1 title.

Verstappen was deemed at fault for the crash as he was issued a 10-second time penalty and two penalty points on his licence – edging him ever closer to a race ban.

But was the penalty too severe? Have your say in the poll below!
