As a result of winning the F1 constructors’ title, McLaren faces a huge extra bill to defend its championship next season.

Due to McLaren scoring 666 points on its way to its first constructors’ crown since 1998, it must pay the FIA a staggering fee of $6,115,429.

Each team’s entry fee is calculated by using a simple formula. All teams must pay a basic fee of $680,203, plus $6,799 per point scored.

The calculation is slightly different for McLaren because, as champions, its basic fee is $680,203, plus it must pay $8,161 per point scored in 2024.

The basic fee and fee per point have increased by 3.4%, with the Woking-based outfit set to pay a remarkable $3,471,942 more than it did to enter the 2024 F1 season.

Ferrari is also set to pay almost $2 million more to compete next year, with its entry fee $5,113,151.

Red Bull, on the other hand, will pay the governing body almost $3 million less after scoring 271 points fewer than last year.

Stake F1 will pay the smallest fee to compete next season, at just $707,399.
