Starting grid for 2024 F1 Mexican Grand Prix

Carlos Sainz will lead the F1 field away in the 2024 F1 Mexico City Grand Prix after a stunning pole position lap.

The Ferrari racer bagged his first pole of the season, and first since the 2023 Singapore Grand Prix at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez – with both his Q3 laps good enough for P1.

He is joined on the front-row by Max Verstappen, whose first lap in Q3 was deleted for track limits – but he fared a lot better than Sergio Perez in the sister Red Bull, who was dumped in Q1 and will be 18th at best.

Lewis Hamilton will start sixth, with Lando Norris in third – and in the pound seat to slipstream Sainz and Verstappen on the long race to Turn 1 – the longest of the entire season.
