Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez were involved in a massive crash on the penultimate lap of an enthralling Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

With McLaren’s Oscar Piastri managing to stretch his lead out front after being hounded for 30 laps by Charles Leclerc in his Ferrari, the Monégasque then started to lose his rear tyres.

Verstappen learns fate after post-Azerbaijan GP investigation

The stewards have taken no further action against Carlos Sainz or Sergio Perez following a crash on the penultimate lap of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

Ferrari driver Sainz and Red Bull’s Perez were fighting with Charles Leclerc for the minor podium places after McLaren’s Oscar Piastri had finally managed to pull ahead out front after being hounded by the Monégasque for almost 30 laps.

Oscar Piastri claimed a stunning victory in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, following a lengthy battle with polesitter Charles Leclerc. 

The fight for the victory went down to the final laps, until Leclerc’s hard tyres hit the cliff following a very long stint.

Hamilton hindered after Mercedes component ‘was not correctly built’

Lewis Hamilton revealed that he was forced to take a power unit change for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix as a “component wasn’t correctly built”.

The seven-time world champion had qualified in seventh, but was forced to start from the pit lane following the overnight power unit change after qualifying.

Norris ‘played game’ to beat Verstappen ‘on merit’

Lando Norris has conceded to surprise after beating F1 title rival Max Verstappen to the chequered flag at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

Following a difficult qualifying on Saturday, Norris lined up 15th on the grid, with Verstappen sixth.
