Red Bull suggest early launch for RB21 F1 car

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has hinted the RB21 challenger will be unveiled to the public in late January.

F1 will hold a launch event on February 18 from the O2 Arena in London which will feature all 10 teams participating in the 2025 season.

However, teams are free to host their own launch events as they gear up for the new season.

Ferrari has already confirmed the new car from the Maranello-based squad will take place on February 19 – one day after the F1 75 launch event.

However, Red Bull looks set to show off its RB21 – which will be piloted by Max Verstappen and new team-mate Liam Lawson – even earlier than that, as Horner suggested the wraps will be taken off at the end of January.

“This is the first time that Adrian [Newey] will have had absolutely no input into the car,” Horner told Sky F1. “That’s for the team to step up to that challenge.

“I’m confident they can do that. They’ve got strength and depth and we’ll see what the RB21 looks like when it’s unveiled at the end of January.”

Newey, who constructed all of Red Bull’s championship-winning cars, will take on a new role at Aston Martin next year.

Red Bull faced adversity on the track during this past campaign following its strong start – but Horner has hailed the squad for how it responded in the closing stages of the campaign to secure a fourth drivers’ title for Max Verstappen.

“The team has done a great job in terms of working through some of the difficulties this year and getting performance on the car at the end of the season,” he said.

“Pole position and the win in Qatar, the win in Brazil. We were very competitive in the sprint race also in Brazil.

“[Also] the sprint win in Austin, even at the beginning of that last tranche of flyway races.”
