Red Bull falter as McLaren surge in F1 points comparison

Formula 1 is in the middle of the summer break with the season taking a rest after 14 races.

With 10 races to go, both championships are up for grabs – but how do the teams compare to one year ago?

RacingNews365 has summed it up for you, allowing you to see who has gained and who has faltered in the last 12 months.

While 2023 was a dominant year for Red Bull, the team has not had the same level of performance this year.

McLaren has closed the gap in the pecking order and is now on the verge of taking over the lead of the standings as Sergio Perez fails to match the point-scoring achievements of team-mate Max Verstappen.

Ferrari has also made a sizeable gain after starting the year in strong fashion, while Mercedes’ increase in form of late has seen it almost match its point tally from last year after a lacklustre opening handful of rounds to the campaign.

Aston Martin join Red Bull in the biggest loser category from the year so far, while Alpine has also failed to emulate the performance from last season.

In the midfield pack, RB and Haas have made visible gains compared to 12 months ago, while Stake F1 remains the only squad yet to score a point, having bagged 10 this time last year.
