The 2025 Red Bull F1 car, the RB21, will get its first run out just ahead of pre-season testing getting underway.
The team has confirmed to RacingNews365 that it will use a private filming day in Bahrain on February 25 to shake down its new car.
The Milton Keynes-based team will not be alone on the Bahrain International Circuit, with Mercedes also giving its W16 a run-out prior to testing commencing the following day.
Private filming days afford teams up to 200 kilometres worth of track time. In recent years, Red Bull has used Silverstone ahead of the new season, but with the F175 event largely doing away the need for a traditional ‘launch’ the team will head out early to testing instead.
It will provide Max Verstappen his first opportunity to get behind the wheel of the car that could lead him to a record-matching fifth-consecutive F1 drivers’ championship.
If the 27-year-old is able to achieve that feat, he will equal Michael Schumacher’s run with Ferrari from 2000 to 2004.
