Ocon signals ‘remarkable’ Haas F1 achievement

Esteban Ocon has hailed Haas’ ability to compete in F1 despite having a much smaller squad size compared to rival teams.

Haas joined the F1 grid as a brand new team in 2016, making it the newest outfit in the paddock and is known to have significantly fewer staff numbers than others in the field. 

It has scored a best result of fifth in the constructors’ championship, which came in 2018 before it descended down the pecking order for a handful of seasons.

However, it has enjoyed an uptick in form this year and has convinced Ocon to sign a multi-year deal starting in 2025.

Ocon pointed to his previous experience working with a smaller-sized team as he gears up for a new era of his career.

“I’ve had experience with both ends, racing with Force India back then, working with Mercedes later on and working here [at Alpine], and then I will be working with Haas in the future,” Ocon told media including RacingNews365.

“They are doing an incredible job at the moment.”

Haas currently sit seventh in the constructors’ championship on 27 points, over double its total tally from last year.

“They are about three hundred

“And the plans going forward are also very appealing. I look forward [to it].”
