Norris targets McLaren title glory after unforgettable season

Lando Norris is targeting a strong Abu Dhabi Grand Prix to seal McLaren the F1 constructors’ title, and conclude a season he will “never forget”.

It has been an unforgettable campaign for the British driver, who until the Las Vegas Grand Prix had featured in the drivers’ title fight for the first time.

Max Verstappen was, ultimately, just too strong for the 25-year-old, who claimed his maiden F1 win earlier in the year.

Luck was on Norris’ side in Miami to secure his first victory in the pinnacle of motorsport, whilst further victories this season in the Netherlands and SIngapore were claimed entirely on merit.

McLaren as a team has enjoyed a remarkable season, which could have the fairytale ending at the Yas Marina Circuit.

A 21-point advantage is held by the Woking-based outfit over Ferrari; however, the Italians are expected to be competitive in Abu Dhabi.

Norris is ready for a final battle against Ferrari, and is determined to get the job done.

“The finale up next, Abu Dhabi,” said Norris. “We had a quick car in Qatar, so I’m excited to see what we can do this weekend.

“I’m focused and ready to give it my all one final time this season and bring home the Constructors’ Championship.

“It’s definitely been a season I’ll never forget, from getting my first win in Miami to being close to winning the Drivers’ Championship.

“The entire team’s done an incredible job of giving us a really fun car to drive this season, and I want to thank everyone for that. Abu Dhabi is always a great place to finish off the season. Now we need to go out there and finish the job.”
