A huge push by former F1 driver Kevin Magnussen has elevated the #24 BMW car into victory contention at the 2025 Daytona 24 Hours.

As the sun started to rise following a chaotic accident-packed night, Magnussen came alive with the increasing track temperature working to BMW’s advantage.

With four hours remaining, the #24 car found itself in a Porsche Penske sandwich, with Laurens Vanthoor leading the way in the #7 car.

The fight for the win looks set to be between the two German manufacturers. With Cadillac’s realistic hopes having ended following the #40 crashing during the night.

In LMP2, a mistake by Colton Herta in the #4 CrowdStrike Racing car dropped the team out of the podium places with repairs having cost the outfit several laps. A full course yellow was required.

The second prototype class is being led by the #99 AO Racing car, with the #88 PECOM Racing car and the #8 Tower Motorsports car completing the top three. Remarkably, the #8 started the race from last in class.

In the GT classes, the GTD PRO class was led by the #1 Paul Miller Racing BMW after 20 hours, whilst the #13 AWA Corvette led the GTD class.
