LIVE: Reaction as Verstappen receives multiple penalties as Sainz wins in Mexico

Round 20 of the 2024 F1 season is nearly here with the Mexico City Grand Prix from the Autodromo Hermanos Rodgiguez.

Max Verstappen enters with a 57-point lead over Lando Norris in the standings – but neither driver claimed pole position with Carlos Sainz set to lead the field to green after a stunning pole position for Ferrari. 

Both of his laps were good enough for P1, with team-mate Charles Leclerc only fourth after a mistake.

Lewis Hamilton is sixth whilst home favourite Sergio Perez is down in 18th after a humiliating Q1 exit for Red Bull.
