Former F1 driver Martin Brundle is assertive that Max Verstappen will not alter his approach to wheel-to-wheel racing this year.
Verstappen has long been criticised by some of his F1 rivals over his aggressive on-track nature which he has displayed throughout his F1 career.
It became a major talking point during the 2024 season amid his championship battle with Lando Norris.
Verstappen became particularly hostile with his on-track manoeuvres in the final stages of the season and ran Norris off the road in the USA and Mexico as he closed in on a fourth F1 title.
The Dutchman maintained at the time he would not alter his approach going forward – a situation Brundle sees unchanged over the winter break.
“He’ll race exactly the same,” Brundle told Sky Sports News. “That’s how he’s hard-wired. That’s why he’s a four-time world champion.
“We saw it against Lewis. We’ve seen it more recently against Lando.
“The more tense the championship gets, the more aggressive Max drives.”
“He’s so clever, he’s skilful enough to place the guy, he knows the regulations inside out.
“He’s overly aggressive sometimes, but makes it work for him.”
Verstappen will start his quest for a fifth straight F1 title next weekend at the Australian Grand Prix.
