Lewis Hamilton has made his first appearance behind the wheel of his new Ferrari F1 car at the Fiorano Circuit.
Hamilton is preparing for his first full season with the Italian squad after bringing the curtain down on his highly successful tenure with Mercedes at the end of 2024.
The seven-time champion has already had a taste of Ferrari machinery, having taken part in a number of private tests.
However, these outings were conducted in older challengers, with Wednesday’s event at Maranello marking the first time Hamilton has driven the SF-25.
Ferrari showed off its new livery at the F1 75 launch event on Tuesday from the O2 Arena in London with a notable white stripe accompanying the traditional red.
The car made its on-track debut at the hands of Charles Leclerc before Hamilton jumped behind the wheel for his first taste.
Speaking at the F1 75 launch event, Hamilton was asked for his key word heading into the new campaign.
“The word that I’m thinking of is ‘invigorated’ because I feel so full of life, so much energy,” Hamilton said.
“Everything is new and I’m just focused on what’s ahead. I’m so proud to be part of the team, it’s something new and exciting for me.”
Hamilton will be back driving the SF-25 next week at pre-season testing in Bahrain before making his race debut at the Australian Grand Prix in March.
