Early drama in Dakar Rally, motorcyclist under the knife

It is an oft-repeated slogan: in the prologue of the Dakar Rally there is nothing to win, but everything to lose. 

Harith Noah, last year’s overall winner in the Rally 2 class on motorcycles, is listed as the first dropout.

Having fallen off his bike during the 29-kilometre prologue, the Indian rider has broken his wrist.

He has since been transported to the hospital, where surgery is necessary. Needless to say, the rally is over for him.
