Jos Verstappen has made his first comments after Liam Lawson’s early departure and demotion from Red Bull Racing, replaced by Yuki Tsunoda.
Where Max Verstappen just could not get past Lando Norris in the final laps of the Australian Grand Prix, father Jos Verstappen did find success this weekend, winning the Rally des Ardennes in Belgium. Together, with co-driver Renaud Jamoul, he was the fastest in the Belgian Ardennes, and over the twelve special stages, Verstappen and his partner were the fastest.

However, according to the show’s Executive Producer, these criticisms are not fair.

This rumour was then firmly denied by Jos Verstappen, the father of the four-time world champion. Günther Steiner states in the Red Flags Podcast that he does not think Plooij would base such a statement on nothing, but does not seem to be convinced by the rumour going around.
Last Friday, the new season of the popular Netflix Formula One series ‘Drive to Survive’ was released. In the past, Max Verstappen has sometimes been critical of the way the drivers are portrayed in the documentary series. Speaking to Radio Joe, Max’s father Jos Verstappen also commented on the way the Netflix series works.
Jos Verstappen has revealed that Max Verstappen was not completely satisfied after the test days in Bahrain. The reigning world champion’s feeling in the Red Bull car was still optimal on Wednesday at the Bahrain International Circuit, but after that said feeling did not come back. The Red Bull Racing driver’s father appeared on Radio Joe to talk about the upcoming Formula One season, and said it was hard to say where Red Bull stands at the moment.
The Verstappen household had reason to celebrate as Jos Verstappen secured victory in a rally event in northern Sweden. Just days before his son Max kicks off the new Formula 1 season in Australia, the former took the win alongside co-driver Renaud Jamoul in challenging wintry conditions. The pair dominated the rally, cruising to an unchallenged victory on the final day.
