Brazilian GP weather forecast: Rain could disrupt F1 title fight

The Sao Paulo Grand Prix, or (Brazilian Grand Prix as it was previously called) can often stir up drama through weather conditions.

Max Verstappen enters the round 47 points ahead of Lando Norris as he looks to take a further step towards his fourth world title.

A number of title fights at the Interlagos track have been impacted by wet weather – so could the rain impact the action once again this weekend?

Chance of rain during the Brazilian GP weekend

The sprint format returns for the fifth and penultimate time this year, meaning drivers have just one hour of practice before they are thrown into sprint qualifying.

A small chance of rain exists for the opening day of on-track action, however it is more than likely set to stay dry.

In the afternoon, temperatures will hover around 26°C while in the evening, it will drop to roughly 26°C.

However, on Saturday and Sunday, the chance for rain will rise.

On both days, conditions will start off with a mix of clouds and sun – but in the afternoon, the chance of heavy showers and thunderstorms increases.

Under the current forecast, the chance that the rain will hit the circuit is quite high – meaning qualifying and the grand prix could be held in wet conditions.

Although the drivers are no stranger to the dangers of rain in Brazil, the added element of wet conditions will add an extra layer to the challenge for the weekend.
