Racing driver Tommy Milner produced one of the most-watched moments of the 2025 Daytona 24 Hours, where he showed his middle finger to a rival car following a controversial incident.
Milner, racing in the #4 Corvette by Pratt Miller car had been leading the GTD Pro class, ahead of the #1 Paul Miller BMW car.
It was an intense battle; however, controversy built as the #1 car’s lapped team-mate, the #48, purposefully blocked the #4.
The outcome was contact between all three, resulting in substantial bodywork damage to the #4. At the time, the #48 was being driven by the experienced Augusto Farfus and received a drive-through penalty.
When the #48 peeled into the pit lane to serve the penalty, Milner drove past at 180 mph with his middle finger out of the Corvette’s small window.
It quickly became a viral moment, although the #4 Corvette ended up finishing in seventh. At the end of his stint Milner was furious and criticised BMW.
“It’s embarrassing on [BMW’s] part to race like that,” Milner told Frontstretch.
“It’s a shame that that’s how they want to race … If they want to continue the race like that, I don’t think IMSA is going to take too kindly to it.”
He continued: “The #48 BMW that’s laps down, whether it’s the driver, the team, or BMW themselves clearly gave him orders to hold me up.
“To basically slow me down enough so that the car can get by is just a poor standard of driving … BMW should be embarrassed.”
