LIVE: Reaction as Verstappen stuns but Leclerc on Belgian pole

Max Verstappen will hope to repeat his FP3 result in qualifying after he topped a heavily-disrupted final practice session at the Belgian Grand Prix.

The Spa-Francorchamps Circuit saw two red flags. The first with less than 15 minutes run, after Lance Stroll found the wall after spinning at the top of Eau Rouge.

The second was due to the intensity of the rain, with almost all the session washed away with the weather.

That red flag was relinquished at the end to allow for practice starts, but qualifying will broadly be a step into the unknown for the field.

Verstappen cannot start from pole on Sunday, but will nevertheless be hoping to be fastest in Q3. It will be a damage limitation exercise for the Dutchman, with his 10 place grid drop for a power unit change already confirmed.

The better he does in qualifying, the easier the task during the race itself, as he will look to charge through the pack to minimise any potential points loss.
