Genesis Magma Racing has announced that Logan Sargeant will join Jamie Chadwick in the 2025 European Le Mans Series after his mid-season exit from the Williams F1 Team.

Following a very difficult weekend for Logan Sargeant at Zandvoort, Williams replaced the American with Franco Colapinto for the rest of the 2024 F1 season as a team-mate of Alex Albon.

Hyundai luxury brand Genesis has recently announced the first details of its Genesis Magma Racing hypercar programme for 2026, when it will enter the GMR-001 in the World Endurance Championship, including the Le Mans 24 Hours. In 2027 it will also join the IMSA Sportscar Championship.

“The official launch of Genesis Magma Racing is a momentous occasion,” said Cyril Abiteboul, President of Hyundai Motorsport GmbH and Team Principal of Genesis Magma Racing.

“As the backbone of Hyundai Motor Group’s global motorsport activities, Hyundai Motorsport will play a vital role in this latest ambitious program. We are elevating our circuit racing expertise to a whole new level as we prepare to compete in some of the world’s most challenging series.”

In addition, Genesis has also announced that Sargeant, who has tested an IndyCar after his exit from Williams, will race for them in the European Le Mans Series (ELMS).

The Miami-born driver is set to be partnered by W Series champion and Indy Lights race-winner Jamie Chadwick and Mathys Jaubert behind the wheel of the Oreca-Gibson #18 machine.
