Latest 2024 F1 penalty point standings as Verstappen penalised in Mexican GP

Max Verstappen is halfway to an F1 race ban after Mexico City Grand Prix stewards handed him two penalty points for an incident involving Lando Norris.

On lap 10, Verstappen forced Norris off the track at Turn 4 whilst battling for second place, with Norris not returning the position – although he did to leader Carlos Sainz.

Moments later, he lunged Norris at Turn 8, forcing both cars off track, and ostensibly overtaking off the track.

For both incidents, he received 10-second time penalties, equating to 20 seconds in total, going onto finish sixth.

However, after Norris finished second, Verstappen was then handed two penalty points on his super-licence following the Turn 4 move – bringing him to six for the 12-month period.

Verstappen was not the only driver awarded penalty points in Mexico, as Franco Colapinto was handed two points for a collision with Liam Lawson late in the race.

The full list of 2024 F1 driver penalty points and when they are next scrubbed from a driver’s licence is available below.

The table also includes former F1 drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Logan Sargeant, who both have penalty points outstanding.
