McLaren have just announced that they will run a one-off livery at this weekend’s Singapore Grand Prix, having presented a Legend Reborn design with partner OKX.

With Mercedes and the Visa Cash RB outfit have already revealed their special colour scheme for this weekend, McLaren has become the third team to run a special, one-off livery at the Singpore Grand Prix.

The Woking-based outfit has designed the special livery in collaboration with OKX, with the new colour scheme set to celebrate the MP4 era of McLaren from 1981 to 1996, blending the classic stripe design with McLaren’s papaya colour scheme “as a way of honouring the heritage of the team”.

The team is yet to show off the new design that will be officially unveiled at an on-track event in Singapore, prior to the race weekend getting under way, with McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown and McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri in attendance.

The team have also noted that they intend to celebrate some of their legendary drivers, including Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost and Niki Lauda. In addition, the names of 13 iconic drivers from the era will be integrated into the livery on the cockpit.

Louise McEwen, Chief Marketing Officer, McLaren Racing, said: “It is fantastic to bring back our third bespoke livery in Singapore with OKX. Legend Reborn is a great way to celebrate and honour our iconic history, in a way that unites fans old and new.

“Following on from this year’s Senna campaign, this livery further embodies our partnership with OKX as we continue to deliver unique story telling campaigns for McLaren fans and OKX customers globally.”

“It feels good going into this race knowing we’re currently first in the Constructors’ Championship. The team have done and keep doing an excellent job. We know we now need to keep working hard and delivering consistent results.

“I’m excited for this weekend in Singapore. It’s a great country to visit and it’s cool to race under the lights. This circuit can be quite challenging with the humidity, but I’ve done well here in the past and I’m feeling prepared, so it should be another fun race.”

“After an incredible weekend securing my second Grand Prix win, I’m ready to go for it again in Singapore. It’s a shorter circuit but an incredibly demanding one for the drivers. We have a good rhythm going in the team, and we now have to keep adding as many points as possible.

“We got some decent points from Singapore last year. With a stronger car, we should be in a position to challenge. Hopefully, we can keep the momentum going.”

Andrea Stella
“After a successful weekend in Baku, we now head to Singapore and another street circuit. This is one of the more physically demanding races due to the high humidity. The team are prepared for such tricky conditions and will aim for another good weekend of points.

“We go into this weekend leading the Constructors’ Championship, but we must now work hard to keep hold of this position. We are encouraged by our performance, and ready for the next seven races.”
