Ferrari attempted to lure Lambiase from Red Bull – report
Ferrari looked to pry Max Verstappen’s race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase from Red Bull earlier this year, according to a report.
The Italian squad is looking to a new era in 2025 when seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton will join alongside Charles Leclerc.
Ferrari has been pushing to add further reinforcements to its F1 set-up, with Loic Serra also making the switch from Mercedes to join as its head of chassis performance engineering next month.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur attempted to sign Lambiase from Red Bull.
Lambiase has been the race engineer of Max Verstappen since the now three-time world champion joined the Milton Kenyes-based squad in 2016.
Verstappen has reiterated on several occasions the strong relationship he shares with Lambiase.
RacingNews365 understands that Lambiase recently extended contract at Red Bull, sharing his intention to stay with the team for a longer period.
Lambiase’s journey with Red Bull, which began in 2014, has seen him rise to the role of head of race engineering.
