Former Formula One team boss Eddie Jordan insists Ferrari will be an incredibly strong team with the arrival of the seven-time F1 world champion, Lewis Hamilton.

Lewis Hamilton announced his shock departure from Mercedes on the 1st of February. The announcement caught the Formula One community by surprise as the seven-time world champion was set to race for the Brackley-based outfit until the end of 2025.

However, an exit clause in his contract allowed Hamilton to leave the team in 2025 if he wished, and the Briton elected to terminate his contract at the end of the current season and seek for a new challenge at Ferrari next year.

Hamilton is statistically the most successful driver in the history of Formula One, tied with the great German seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher on the number of world championship titles.

Expanding on Hamilton’s current form on the Formula For Success podcast, 13-time F1 race winner David Coulthard said that the seven-time world champion is back in top form.

“He seems to be back to his brilliant best as he gets into a sort of countdown to leaving with Mercedes. He’s actually got one part of his mind will be on Ferrari, it’s got to be.”

His fellow podcast pundit Eddie Jordan agrees Hamilton is “right back on his game” with the former team boss saying he believes Ferrari will be incredibly strong with the arrival of the seven-time world champion.

“Lewis, I think at the beginning of the year he was without any doubt pretty much focused on joining Ferrari, getting the right people and making sure that he had Fred Vasseur on board.”

“Ferrari, they’re going to be a big team next year and they will be overjoyed to see the re-emergence of Lewis because no amount of saying to Ferrari, ‘Say look what we’re doing at Mercedes, don’t worry about that, we can beat George, we can beat everyone, we’re going to be powerful’.”

“And that Mercedes team is going to be strong going forward but Ferrari is going to be incredibly strong. I think Lewis is right back on his game. And he’s now eyeing up a championship fight for next year. And who’s to say that he’s wrong,” concluded Jordan.
