2024 F1 championship standings after Italian Grand Prix

Max Verstappen will breathe a sigh of relief after the Italian Grand Prix, as Lando Norris only trimmed his points lead to 62. 

From pole, Norris was shuffled out of the lead by team-mate Oscar Piastri at Turn 4 on the opening lap, with McLaren committing to a two-stop. 

However, Ferrari went for broke, with Charles Leclerc winning with Piastri second and Norris third, with fastest lap. 

It means Norris takes 16 points from Monza, with Verstappen earning eight for his sixth place. 

In the constructors, McLaren have all but wiped out the points lead of Red Bull, with Ferrari also lurking close behind…
